Salt Lake City – The Utah Office of Tourism will be traveling around Utah over the next month to get public input on a new brand to promote the state. The branding tour will lead the office to a dozen Utah cities.
“We want to make sure Utah residents have an opportunity to tell us what makes their state unique as we get ready to launch a branding and advertising campaign to increase the number of out-of-state tourists, lengthen tourist visits, and boost visitor spending,” says Leigh von der Esch, managing director of the Office of Tourism, Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development. “Utah aspires to develop a branding platform that captures the Utah experience and essence, including the sound, feel and color of the state. Who knows this better than our own tourism partners.”

The Utah Office of Tourism is working with W Communications in Salt Lake City to develop the branding strategy. The state plans to unveil its new branding strategy at the World Travel Market in London in November.
“This is an exciting time for the state as we develop a marketing plan to spend the increased advertising dollars, and we hope Utahns will provide their input,” adds von der Esch.
