State Ethnic Office Sponsors Second Town Hall Meeting in Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City – Utah residents are invited to a series of Town Hall Meetings to meet the new directors of the Utah Office of Ethnic Affairs and discuss issues affecting the state’s minority populations. The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 21, 2005, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Public Library Auditorium, located at 210 East 400 South.
Those in attendance at these meetings will include: Yvette Donosso Diaz, executive director, Utah Department of Community and Culture; Edie Mitko, director, Office of Asian Affairs; Michael Styles, director, Office of Black Affais; Leo Gonzalez, director, Office of Hispanic Affairs; Fotu Osaiasi Katoa, director, Office of Pacific Islanders; Forrest Cuch, director, Utah Division of Indian Affairs; and Luz Robles, director of Public Policy and Research, Office of Ethnic Affairs.
“We have had tremendous community response from our meetings in St. George and Salt Lake City,” said Diaz. “Citizens have given us input on their issues of concern, including the new Utah driving privilege card.”
The Office of Ethnic Affairs is also planning to hold additional community meetings later this month in Ogden and Orem.
