Vocus Helps National Crime Prevention Council Take a Bite Out of PR Challenges
McGruff® Agency Group Expands Use of Vocus Public Relations Software

LANHAM, Md., July 29, 2004 – Vocus, Inc., the global leader in on-demand software for public relations and government relations, today announced that the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), the non-profit crime prevention organization best known for McGruff the Crime Dog®, has renewed its subscription to Vocus PR software and added additional optional features.

NCPC has managed its public relations with Vocus software since last summer. According to Todd Post, Assistant Director of Communications, NCPC will launch an online press center accessible from its home page using the turnkey Vocus Online Newsroom product. This popular component of the Vocus PR software suite allows organizations to maintain a 24/7 media presence that journalists and the public can go to for press releases, collateral, executive bios and the latest company news. Each client’s Vocus Online Newsroom has the same look and feel as the rest of its Web site even though the newsroom is actually hosted and maintained by Vocus. Another feature that NCPC will use is Vocus Email Campaigns. Email Campaigns will allow the organization to create HTML email messages that enable recipients to download documents, visit Web sites, provide feedback, and take other actions from within the body of the email message. What’s more, the Vocus product will even keep track of which recipients actually open the messages and which actions they take.

"Through Vocus our agency has all the features we need in one service,” said Post. "Vocus was the best choice for us because it provided all the services we wanted at a price we could afford."

"Organizations realize that on-demand software for public relations is the only choice for PR success and that Vocus is the clear choice for leaders like the National Crime Prevention Council," said Rick Rudman, president and CEO, of Vocus. "Vocus is the market leader in on-demand software for public relations and provides customers with a proven track record of innovation and success."
