The DuPont™ Self-Charging Smoke Alarm PS-131 is the first in a series of home safety innovations to be introduced by DuPont. This product is charged by the home’s electricity, screwing directly into ceiling-mounted light sockets and track lights without lampshades.
Ideal for use in unprotected, at-risk areas such as laundry rooms, closets, basements, furnace rooms, workshops and garages.
Smoke alarms are normally designed to work at temperatures above 40° F. DuPont™ Self-Charging Smoke Alarm has been tested and certified for use in areas where temperatures may regularly fall to 5° F.
Batteries are not required for the DuPontTM Self-Charging Smoke Alarm. The unique AngelEyeTM technology incorporated within the DuPontTM Smoke Alarm features an internal self-charging power pack that recharges by connecting to the home’s electricity.
Requires the light to be on for just two hours per week to remain fully charged, and will operate for 30 days without charging if the light isn’t turned on or if power is lost.
Alarm requires minimum maintenance; a simple two flips of the light switch is necessary to test and three flips of the switch will silence a false alarm.
Uses an ionization-type sensor to detect the presence of smoke. Ionization-type smoke alarms are generally more effective at detecting fast flaming fires, which consume combustible materials rapidly and spread fires quickly.
Backed by an exclusive 10-year or Life of product limited warranty.
